DATE YOUR SPOUSE
When you’re thinking about date nights and what it takes to date your spouse it doesn’t have to be all movies and dinners out.
Not that dinner and movies aren’t fun, just mix it up.
There are a few rules I think of when it comes to date nights with your spouse.
It’s important to be fully present when you are dedicating time to date nights. This means giving them all of your attention.
The last thing you want is to be one of those couples you see out in public that aren’t even conversing with one another, but instead, are sitting on their phones the entire time.
So put the phone down, make eye contact and show them you care.
This is bound to send some sparks up and allow for more open communication during your date.
MIX IT UP
Don’t be afraid to try something new. Do some brainstorming with your spouse and come up with a few fresh ideas to try out.
This will keep things interesting and allow you to get to know your spouse on a deeper level.
You may even find new interests that will last the test of time.
Break outside your comfort zone, have fun with it and laugh a lot.
When you’re thinking up new date night ideas make sure to include things that each person wants to do.
Don’t be selfish in your endeavors.
Have fun with it and don’t be afraid to try new things. This might even push you out of your comfort zone and learn something new.
MAKE IT A REGULAR HABIT
Date nights shouldn’t be a once in a while thing, but they also don’t have to be an expensive event.
Come together with your spouse and decide on the frequency of your dates.
For example, have one date night out of the house and 1 date night in the house.
Depending on what your budget allows finding new fun things to do together will further your adventures as a couple.
Making lots of memories along the way will give you lots of stories to tell the grandkids!
Just don’t forget to be present, mix it up and have fun!
HOW TO DATE YOUR SPOUSE
There are so many things you can do with your spouse… the list is endless depending on your location and interests. Here are 7 ways you can date your spouse right now.
Whether you take a cooking class or you break out the pots and pans at home.
Look up new recipes and explore different cuisine together. Push your palette to new horizons.
Cooking together can be a lot of fun.
GO OUT TO A PARK
Find a new state park or one of your favorites and enjoy time together.
You can take a blanket and basket and go on a romantic picnic. You can even go in the evening and enjoy the sunset while you talk about your hopes and dreams together.
Don’t be afraid to hit the swings and enjoy the little moments together without the kids.
If your park offers trails or sports options you could even play a game or go hiking.
Parks offer endless amounts of fun if you’re open to it.
My husband and I really enjoy going out on a dark, starry night after the kids are in bed.
We keep an eye on the space events calendar to head out and watch a meteor shower or comets passing close by Earth.
If you’re into jumpstarting a new hobby you could even buy a telescope to get a closer look.
Or you could just take a blanket out, lay in the silence and just soak it all in.
DATE NIGHT IN
This is one of our favorite ways to have a date night because we do have kids and not a lot of childcare options.
We get to customize our evenings without worrying about what time we have to pick up the children from the sitter.
Date nights in can offer a lot of possibilities. We really enjoy movie nights, cooking together, playing games, and our Date Night In Box
The Date Night In Box was a great way for us to have an awesome date night after my husband came home from a long trip away.
Our date included taking a walk down memory lane and recounting the things we had done as a couple over the years.
We recounted how we first met, the nicknames we’ve had for each other, how many birthdays we’ve celebrated, states visited and more.
When it comes to the ways to date your spouse this is by far the easiest for many.
Date Night In Box is a great way to enjoy an evening without the need to leave your home.
LOCAL COMMUNITY EVENTS
One awesome way to support your community and date your spouse is by heading out to a local street fair or community event.
Take a look at the local events calendar and find something fun that you will both enjoy.
We really enjoy local street fairs and farmers markets.
GO ON A ROAD TRIP
Hit the road and explore the side roads in your area. Just drive until you find something interesting to explore.
You may find old towns with thrift stores, historic sites, scenic vistas and overlooks to explore.
Drive until you find a quiet place to stop and take in the views around you with your loved one.
HEAD OUT TO A THRIFT STORE
We both love going to thrift stores and just wondering around finding hidden gems.
A lot of times we like to mix up road tripping and stopping in at new thrift stores.
This is a great way to redecorate a room, restore something old together or just to peruse the aisles.
ALL IN ALL
When you date your spouse you solidify the quality of your relationship.
Don’t be afraid to mix it up and have fun.
Just go out and get lost together!
