Keeping the family and home organized with a life planner and a home binder can seem like quite an undertaking. It’s been something that has completely changed my life and my household. No longer am I forgetting dates, appointments or maintenance. There is so much more to be said for keeping a home binder than I can say in this post.
But I want to give it a try.
Keeping Organized With A Life Planner
So what is a life planner you ask? To me, a life planner is something that I can plan out my goals, write down my gratitude or affirmations, daily, weekly and monthly tasks. I can see the year at a glance and even plan out important dates like birthdays and anniversaries.

I have the ability to organize these sheets to how they fit me best. The planning section is by far my most favorite. I can plan the week all on one page with a section for my affirmation or gratitude as well as each days dinner. There is also a section for to-dos and notes.
There is also an hourly planning sheet. I know these will come in handy for a lot of moms that have tasks going on all day. From running kids to appointments to sports activities and everything in between. These would be great for homeschooling moms too!
Monthly planning, of course, is a must-have. To be able to see the entire month at a glance and fill in those important dates, appointments and fun things. Then transfer those into the weekly sheets.
Lastly, the best part of the planning section is the goal planning. This is where my life planning desires come into play. You can plan these out on a monthly basis with the action steps it will take to get to that goal. Then you will be able to do an end of the month check-in.
Diving Into The Home Binder
MEAL PLANNING LIKE A MOM
Okay so that’s probably not a saying but I’m going with it. If you have followed me for any length of time then you know that meal planning is one of my favorite topics to discuss.
From planning on paper to planning in Trello I love it all. I came up with a system of meal planning digitally and I use that system to supplement my paper planner.
In this section of the home binder you will get weekly and monthly meal planning sheets as well as recipe cards, family favorites list and inventory sheets. You also get a shopping list too!
You can print these as you need them or go ahead and have them printed for each week or month. However, you see it working for your family. This is why I’m so in love with my life planner and home binder. The sheer flexibility gets me all giddy.
FAMILY MEDICAL INFO SHEETS
This is a topic that is highly discussed in my family since we have a child with tree nut allergies and asthma. She has medications and allergies we have to keep an eye on so these were really important to have included.
SCHOOL PROFILE SHEETS
This isn’t something I’ve seen elsewhere and that is really exciting for me too. Our kid’s school information can become overwhelming to keep up with. In this section, you will get a spot to fill in the office, nurse, bus company, counselor information as well as school activities with dates, times and costs.
ROUTINES FOR EVERYONE
This section I kept super simple but you can print out a routine page for morning, afternoon and evening routines.
Home & Vehicles
This section is dedicated to home and vehicle maintenance as well as a simple cleaning routine sheet. No more forgetting those important tasks!
Every single year I have to ask my family for their addresses. I’m not sure why I haven’t put them in my phone yet but hello… this is making that simplified! You get a sheet for home contacts that include utility companies, internet, phone and maintenance professionals that you use. You also get a friends and family sheet, emergency and babysitter contacts! Woot woot! No more losing those important digits.
BUDGETING MADE EASY
So the budgeting section I intentionally simplified. You get a budget worksheet, savings and debt tracker, and a tax checklist.
The flexibility of this life planner and home binder is simply the best. You can choose which pages work best for you. If you wanted to split up certain sections you can do that too. Whatever your little heart desires. The pages come with a dated and un-dated option as well to give more flexibility.
For the sake of full disclosure, this binder is a digital product. It will come in a color version or you can print in grayscale. If you choose to print this at home use a high-quality printer paper and make sure you have enough ink. On the flip side of that, you can take it to a print store like Office Depot or Staples. Make sure you tell them exactly how you want it printed though. Whether double sided or not. They can also bind them for you!
