Do you need toddler gift ideas for your Christmas shopping list?
With Christmas shopping season upon us, we have 53 days until the big day. While I was shopping over the weekend for my youngest daughter I couldn’t help but think I hated every toy I was finding for her on the “most popular” list. I didn’t like any of them because they were junk. They were cheaply made and didn’t teach her anything. In my house those toys seem to get pushed to the side and never played with. I really don’t like toys that are single purpose or don’t teach my children something. I love toys that help them with hand eye coordination, colors, shapes, sounds, etc. and so I decided to switch gears. I put together a list of our favorite toys over the years that can double for learning time! Not only will your child be entertained but they can learn from these as well. We love multi-use toys in our home, and the best part about this list is the price tag. All of these toys are LESS than $25. Score!
Toddler Gift Ideas for this Christmas Season
This puzzle is thick and sturdy. Even for the toddler that likes to chew, this product will stand up to the abuse.
I think every child from the mid-1960’s and beyond has enjoyed one of these. This is a wonderful toy to add to the collection. There are 12 animals and sounds for kids to have fun with.
These blocks are just wonderful. They have shapes, numbers, pictures and even flaps for storytelling. There is a wide variety of things that can be learned by playing with these blocks. The best part? They are soft… so mom and dad can’t step on it and get hurt while sneaking out of their kid’s room at night!
So these blocks can be nested together for easy storage and your child can build them into a tower. There are cutouts and it comes with shapes that your little one can put through the matching hole. What better way to teach hand-eye coordination?!
Who doesn’t like to play with a cash register!? This register is smaller than others we have owned and that makes for easy storage!
Buckets! Kids love to put things in and take things out of buckets. These can be used for bath time (it’s what they are meant for) or any other type of play where you would want a bucket. We love buckets at our house. We use them to hold crayons, markers, chalk and much more.
Hape® Creative Peg Puzzle $14.39
This wonderful little wooden toy is just adorable. It’s thick and sturdy and the pieces aren’t small. It will help to teach your child hand-eye coordination. They will learn to think because the pegs won’t allow you to just drop the pieces onto the pegs. This is a great toy!
Alex Toys Sort and Count $18.49
This is a wonderful toy to add to any collection. It’s in the shape of an adorable little house. Any little one would love to play with this. The beads on top can be counted and the shapes are dropped into the side of the little house. This is a great toy for the price. Most of these are much more expensive.
KidKraft Shape Sorting Cube $18.99
Of course there is the standard sorting cube. It’s wooden and like the other wooden toys, it’s sturdy. Any little one would love to play with this and there is more than just your standard shapes included.
Seriously who doesn’t like bath time? Well, maybe some kids don’t, but they may just need a good toy to play with. This little boat has nesting cups and little squirting toys included. The best part? It floats! My kids love their floating boat at bath time. It really adds a layer of fun with the bubbles and mermaids they have in there.
Any of these options would make a great toddler gift idea for your shopping list. The best part?! They are all less than $25! What can be better than that? Most all of these toys can be played with for years to come. Even beyond toddler-hood. We have some of these toys and my 6 year old still plays with them. Now that our youngest is old enough to walk she has also begun showing these classics love. Buying for a toddler doesn’t have to be difficult. Better yet make it easy on yourself and jump over and pick up one of these great toys now for your toddler! Target is running free shipping on orders $25 or more. With less than 53 days until Christmas, don’t wait and stress yourself out with last minute shopping.
